Who is Peter Bush?
The story begins in the early 1970s, when Peter was the managing editor of a group of journals published by the Institution of Electrical Engineers. He went on to develop a technical PR division within a fledgling advertising agency in Saffron Walden run by a flamboyant character called Evan Steadman.
Within three years ‘Bush Steadman’ had become one of the leading specialists in the electronics PR sector, working for major multi-nationals eg Gould, RCA and Tektronix as well as entrepreneurial start-ups from the booming high-tech community centred around nearby Cambridge.
In 1989, media tycoon Robert Maxwell bought the business. Following the collapse of Maxwell’s empire, Steadman exhibitions was taken over by Reed Exhibitions.
In 1992, Peter Bush acquired the PR and Marketing business and the business became Peter Bush Communications.
Peter is now retired but continues to write press releases and technical articles and occasionally attends client meetings (especially those involving long lunches).
